We have an unsupported Oracle application 9i running as database server and 10G on the application server.
As part of the application, we can load and save the photo (JPG) within the database. We have started using the photo for various purposes and I have noticed that there is a big difference in the file size, where to compare the preload file with the image during export. Can anyone explain why this is happening?
For example, when we load 10 MB files, the picture is only above 1 MB when it is removed. The exported file size on the original photo is an average of 84% reduction. Image dimensions are still the same size as the DPI. Any ideas why the exported images are quite small, images are loaded in the database.
