Can I install SQL Server 2008R2 SSMS without installing DB Engine instance? -

I have a new development workstation and I need to install SSMS 2008R2, so I can connect to our network db server for work. When I go to the feature selection page in the install, do I have to check the DB engine (example)? Or can I just click on the tool? I do not need the example of DB on my machine because all development will be on DB server. > You will have to go through installation as if you want to set up a SQL Server instance.
