rrdtool - How to know which RRD file is being written to? -

I am a newcomer to Kakti, so please excuse my conspiracy here. I would like to assemble the SNMP data collected through the data template 'Interface High Speed Statistics' (as defined in interface_hosepaid.exml, $ CACTI_HOME / resource / sn_p_iciors). I can click my way around the Cakti GUI, and after ensuring that the above XML file is listed as a data collection method:

  1. On 'Create graph' Click on graph type and select 'SNMP High Speed Interface Statistics' to get results

I want to know whether:

  1. Is there an API to do this? Or, alternatively, know that what RRD file is made of, so that I get the command to get the content in the rrdtool dump or XML format, then I in my data analysis application I can parse (which is completely different from Kakati, and is written in Python).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Truepster

  1. Open the graph.
  2. Click on the tool or the Spanner button.
  3. DEF: / var / lib / cacti / rra / rra-file: AVERAGE
