Any environment variable prefixed with "FACTER_" is automatically added to the Factor collection. I have successfully added the "FACTER_" environmental variable which is actually appearing in the fact-p list, hence it can be used by the puppet ...
The problem, though, is in my mine. PP variable name that must be set to FACTER_ value is empty (or non existent)
Do I need to get FACTER_ variable in some puppet variables?
Cheers
You are likely to set up the system so that The difference is available in interactive shells in FACTER_
. If you want your background agent not to respect them then this is not sensible.
I can see two direct approaches:
- Modify your encryption or its configuration to set the appropriate environment variable.
- Repeat the view completely and instead use
/etc/fact/facts.d
.
I will advise on the latter.
